What we do.
Waterloo Barbershop is a parlour for the working gentleman. We cut hair, we trim beards, and we shave with a straight razor and a good hot towel. We do this slowly, on purpose, by hand. The shop has one chair (with space and a hiring sign for a second) and a single bell on the door.
Read the full tariff: thirteen line items from a $10 wax to a $75 men's cut, each performed at the same standard regardless of price.
Why we are here.
The owner, Jessica Mitchell, opened Waterloo Barbershop in 2026 after eighteen years cutting hair in other people's chairs around west Austin, on her own. The room you sit in was built to look the way a barbershop ought to look — dark wood and warm low light, black leather, brass fixtures, tile underfoot. The music is on low.
We chose the corner at 4201 Bee Caves Road — in the small commercial complex called The Schoolyard — because the west side of Austin had been short an honest barbershop for too long. We open the doors at ten and usually close around seven.
Who works the chair.
She is a trained stylist and barber — which means you get the best in both shear work and clipper work.

Waterloo has space for another barber and we are hiring. If you're a barber or stylist with excellent customer-service skills, talent, and the desire to always do your best, you might be the next barber to join the team. If interested, write the shop.
How we work.
Slowly, on purpose. A Waterloo Barbershop haircut runs a real half-hour, and Beard Trim Deluxe the same. Those numbers are real time at the work, not advertised time. We do not double-book the chair, and we do not rush the part-line.
The chair is by appointment. The online booking link in the navigation is the fastest way to a chair — most patrons book that way. The shop telephone is on (512) 284-8210 if you'd rather. Cash and card. Gratuity at your discretion.
Quod scripsi, scripsi. — What we cut, we cut, precise and never hurried.
